Ms. Amy is originally from Los Angeles, CA. She trained in ballet and character dance with Rosemary Valaire and Stanley Holden (Royal Ballet), Yvonne Mounsey and John Clifford (New York City Ballet), and Tatiana Riabouchinska and Irina Kosmovska (Ballet Russes). She continued her pre-professional training with Ballet West, Joffrey Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and the master teacher, David Howard. She has performed with Joffrey Ballet, Los Angeles Ballet, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Westside Ballet, and Princeton University’s Expressions Dance Company.
She began teaching ballet at age 16 as a volunteer at the YMCA. For the last five years, she taught ballet, character dance, pointe, and conditioning in Williamsburg, VA. She regularly attends Royal Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet teacher training programs. In 2015, she became an American Ballet Theatre® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. She is pursuing the next level of certification at ABT in 2019. She recently completed a Dance Kinesiology course with the National Dance Education Organization, earning a distinction, and she is also a Flexistretcher® Conditioning Specialist.
Some of her students have received scholarships and attended summer intensives at American Ballet Theatre, artEmotion/Ballet West, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Chautauqua Institution, Cincinnati Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and Richmond Ballet. She has coached and choreographed for students attending the Youth America Grand Prix ballet competition.
